Extra Curricular Clubs
At Heron Way we believe in developing an extended curriculum outside of the classroom, from Reception right through to Year 6. Clubs run mainly after school and there are a few available before school. Our external childcare provider - Rocketeers - offers before and after school provision for those parents and carers who have work commitments. They also provide childcare on INSET days and during the holidays.
Prior to COVID-19 many of the teachers ran after school clubs for no charge, these ran from 3.00 - 4.00pm and included Computing, Country Dancing, Art, Netball, Football, Italian, Reading and Homework Club. Clubs were specific to certain year groups. Once restrictions for schools have been lifted we hope to recommence our clubs. A full list of clubs for the forthcoming term is provided at the start of every new term.
In addition, we have a range of external providers who come into school to run clubs including French Club, Book Worms, Lego Club, Multi Sports and Kicks Dance, for which a fee to attend applies.
Organised and run by our parents, Heron Way Football Club trains at the school on a Saturday. The club is open to boys and girls with teams split into: under 6’s; under 7’s; under 8’s; under 10’s; under 11’s.
The drama club ‘Act Too’ also uses the school facilities on a Saturday and further details for both are available from the School Office.
Holiday Club Provision
As well as Rocketeers, our PE specialist runs a pay-as-you-go activity club which offers a range of sports on different days. Details on how to secure your child’s place will be sent home prior to the start of each holiday.
